The Houston Sports Awards is excited to announce Houston's very own Alex Bregman as this year's event Master of Ceremonies. The Houston Sports Awards is an annual event that gathers together Houston's top athletes, both past and present, to commemorate, celebrate and recognize Houston's top sports achievements, sports icons, performers, and moments. As the Houston Sports Awards 2020 Athlete of the Year, Alex Bregman is a perfect fit to host this year's event.
"We are thrilled to have Alex hosting this year's Houston Sports Awards," said Patti Smith, Harris County - Houston Sports Authority's Vice President of Communications. "Athletes like Alex make Houston such a special sports city. Since Alex is a 2-time Houston Sports Awards winner both in 2018 for Moment of the Year, and again in 2020 as Athlete of the Year, we knew we wanted to have him back in this role, showing off his personality and helping us celebrate this year's amazing lineup of achievements and icons"
Bregman made his MLB debut with the Astros in July 2016. Since then, he has made a name for himself in the city as the Astro's third baseman and shortstop. With numerous honors, an American League Silver Slugger Award, and a World Series Championship, Bregman has continuously proved himself on and off the field.
We look forward to celebrating with Alex Bregman and the rest of the Houston community on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at the sixth annual Houston Sports Awards. Tickets for the event are currently on-sale at HoustonSportsAwards.org
